Paul used the word “redeeming” — which means to buy back, to reclaim, to rescue from waste. He’s saying your time is being stolen and you need to buy it back. That’s powerful language. It means time management isn’t just productivity — it’s spiritual warfare.

Here’s how time applies to your financial freedom:

The wealthy understand this. That’s why they build passive income — income that doesn’t require their time. Every asset you own that produces income without your presence is a time-purchase. You’re buying back your hours. You’re redeeming your time.

In your financial journey, faith is the currency that:

Accesses favor. When God gives you favor in the marketplace — the unexpected promotion, the door that opens, the opportunity that appears — that’s faith currency at work. Exodus 3:21 says God gave Israel favor in the sight of the Egyptians. That favor was accessed by faith.

Sustains you in the wilderness. Between Egypt and the Promised Land, there’s a wilderness. Between where you are financially and where God is taking you, there will be a season of walking by faith, not by sight. Faith is what keeps you moving when the numbers don’t add up yet.

Activates the promises. God has made promises about your provision, your legacy, your generational blessing. But promises require faith to activate. The check is written — but faith is the signature that cashes it.

Here’s the crucial point: faith without corresponding action is incomplete. James 2:17 makes that clear. So faith isn’t a passive currency — it’s an active one. You deploy it through prayer, through declaration, through obedience, and through stepping out when the path isn’t fully visible.

Currency #3: Money — The Currency That Moves the Marketplace

Money buys groceries. Money pays the mortgage. Money funds the ministry. Money launches the business. Money leaves the inheritance. It’s essential — but it’s not supreme.

The problem is that most financial programs only teach money management. They teach budgets, debt payoff strategies, investment vehicles — all important, but all incomplete without the other two currencies.

Here’s why: you can manage money perfectly and still be in bondage. If you have a great budget but no faith, you’ll live in fear. If you have a growing portfolio but no time freedom, you’ll burn out. If you have savings in the bank but no spiritual foundation, one crisis will unravel everything.

Money is powerful. But money alone is not enough. That’s why BFU teaches all three.
